Overview
This policy explains what information Citewise collects when you visit citewise.ai or use the Citewise platform, how we use it and the choices you have.
If something here is unclear, email hello@citewise.ai and we’ll explain it in plain language.
Information we collect
Account details you give us, such as your name, work email, company and role.
Brand data you add to the platform, such as domains, tracked prompts, competitors and the content you ask agents to review.
Usage data from your device, such as pages viewed, features used, browser type and approximate location based on IP address.
Billing details, which our payment processor handles directly. We never see or store your full card number.
How we use information
We use your information to run and improve Citewise, check the prompts you track, send product and billing emails, keep accounts secure and meet our legal obligations.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use your brand data to train AI models.
AI engines and service providers
To show how AI engines describe your brand, we send the prompts you track to those engines and store their answers. We don’t attach personal information to those prompts.
We also work with providers for hosting, analytics, email and payments. They only process data on our instructions and under contracts that protect it.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and the site working. Where the law requires it, we only set analytics cookies after you agree, and you can change your choice at any time.
Data processing
When you use Citewise on behalf of a company, that company controls the brand data in its workspace and we process it on its behalf.
Our Data Processing Agreement covers those terms. Email hello@citewise.ai to request a signed copy.
How long we keep data
We keep account and brand data for as long as your account is active. When you close your account, we delete it within 30 days, and it clears from our backups within 90 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it.
Email hello@citewise.ai from the address on your account and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Security
We encrypt data in transit and at rest, limit staff access to what each role needs and review that access regularly. Enterprise workspaces also get SSO and audit logs.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we’ll also tell you by email before they take effect.
